Goals of ORB

ORB pursues the goal of overcoming traditional thought patterns and routines in the innovation process. Innovation is often still seen as a purely internal company matter, which inhibits the development of new technical solutions and leads to failed projects and scattered micro-innovations. Particularly in a dynamic and increasingly complex market environment, companies - especially start-ups and small businesses - are faced with the challenge of no longer having all the necessary resources and skills required for successful innovation.

ORB is committed to solving this problem with a holistic open innovation approach. We are creating a symbiotic network of companies, universities and research institutions that acts as the heart of our organisation. Through strategic partnerships (cross-company collaborations, CCC), we enable open exchange and close cooperation in order to develop holistic, sustainable and open-core technologies that are economically viable in the long term.

Our mission at ORB is to bring companies, organisations and users together, promote the exchange of knowledge and educate our members through workshops and training courses. We also support collaborative and non-profit research and development. As a non-profit organisation, we focus on technologies that have both environmental and social impact and are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
